Watch the 'Stranger Things' kids in their adorable original audition tapes

AHHH STRANGER THIIIIINGS!!! EVERYBODY’S TALKING ABOUT IT! CAN’T MOVE FIVE METRES WITHOUT HEARING ‘THE UPSIDE DOWN’!

(etc)

No matter though, I think it’s good. I still haven’t finished the second season yet, so no spoilers either from me, or for me, please, but while we’re still at prime hype on the show, I thought I’d bestow upon you a little visual treat in the form of the original child actors’ audition tapes.

In the video, the actors sit around a table with the creators of the show, the Duffer brothers, and take a look back at their original audition tapes. If you like cute kids and low quality video (not sure why, this was only about three years ago), then you’ll dig this.

In the original tapes, Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas) was 13, Finn Wolfhard (Mike) and Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin) were 12, Millie Bobbie Brown (Eleven) was 10 and Noah Schnapp (Will) was 11. They are now, in adherence to the laws of time, all three years older.

Check the vid below and marvel at the how disconcerting it is that the children now carry the distinct mannerisms of tiny adults even though they are not even 15 yet:

How adorable! Apart from Millie Bobbie Brown’s audition, of course, which is deeply unsettling - how on earth is a child of 10 able to summon that level of deep-set fear on command? I do not know, and I do not want to know.

Still, looked good on the show, didn’t it!
