Steve from 'Stranger Things' has threatened to shave his head - but for a good reason

Not that beautiful hair!

Steve from 'Stranger Things' has threatened to shave his head - but for a good reason
15 December 2017

Is there a man with thicker, more incredible, god-damned beautiful hair than Steve from Stranger Things? The answer: of course not. His hair is 50% of the reason I watch the show. And it even inspired a bunch of glorious memes to be created, including this one:

But now we have a serious warning for you, dear readers: the hair we’ve all grown to know and love is under threat. Joe Keery, who plays Steve Harrington in the hit Netflix show, has promised to shave off all his hair if his co-star David Harbour (Police Chief Jim Hopper) wins a Golden Globe.

Harbour, 42, was nominated for a Golden Globe in the Best Supporting Actor category earlier this week, and posted a jaunty picture of himself wearing a very tight Christmas jumper on Instagram to celebrate.

He said in the post: “Tip my hat to you @goldenglobes for the nomination. My Christmas present came early this year. You got me feeling all the holiday feels.”

This is all well and good. Harbour certainly deserves the nomination – if only for the incredible dad dancing:

But it’s what came next that has outraged Stranger Things fans (including me). Commenting on the post, Steve aka @uncle_jezzy said: “If you win David the Duffer’s [sic] get to shave my head”.

Commenter smiley.famouspeople screamed: “Noooo not the hair!!!!!” Angel_lampron added eloquently: “NO BITCH WTF”

And meghanlooye wrote: “N to the O to the nuh-uh-uh!”

If you’re listening Joe, we beg you, please don’t do this. We love your hair and don’t know how we’ll cope without it. So, you know, just drop the whole the head shaving thing and give the fans what they want.

Harbour is up against Alfred Molina (Feud: Bette And Joan), Christian Slater (Mr. Robot), Alexander Skarsgård (Big Little Lies) and David Thewlis (Fargo) and we’ll find out the winner on 8 January, 2018.
