Second trailer lands for Ricky Gervais' Special Correspondents

The heat is turned up on the Netflix original film

Second trailer lands for Ricky Gervais' Special Correspondents
12 April 2016

It's going to be a very busy year for Ricky Gervais, with the long-awaited David Brent film nearing closer after the release of the first hilarious trailer for Life on the Road.

But before that, the heat has been turned up for his Netflix original feature film Special Correspondents with the unveiling of a second trailer.

It outlines in more detail the plot, which sees a hapless radio journalists (Eric Bana) and a producer (Gervais) who fake front line Ecuadorian war reports from the comfort of their hideout above a Spanish restaurant in New York, before they are reported as missing and forced to cover their own tracks.

Also starring are Vera Farmiga (Bates Motel, Up in the Air), Kelly Macdonald (Boardwalk Empire, Brave), Kevin Pollak (The Usual Suspects, Casino), America Ferrera (Ugly Betty, How to Train Your Dragon), Raúl Castillo (Looking, Cold Weather), and Benjamin Bratt (Modern Family, 24: Live Another Day).

Meanwhile, Ricky has been talking about his enjoyment at working with the subscription service on the film, which he has written, directed and produced, saying, "I think Netflix will see the return of the auteur to movie making. Zero interference and a guaranteed audience. Perfect."

I think we could all do with a job like that.

Special Correspondents is released on Netflix on 29 April
