Some genius has created a Rick and Morty green screen tattoo that deserves your attention right now

We’ve still got a while to wait for the fourth season of Rick and Morty, but that doesn’t mean we’re starved of content related to the Adult Swim comedy.

Co-creator Dan Harmon suggested we won’t see new episodes until late 2019, but after that we can expect things to be a little speedier.

We’ve been promised 70 new episodes of the show after a bumper renewal deal, but in the meantime we’ve been treated to a crossover comic, a music video and more.

But the latest addition, a Rick and Morty green screen tattoo, might be the most ambitious and striking example yet.

Tattoo artist Roy Lee Rowlett, from the United States, has used the same principles behind a greenscreen in film to create a tattoo over which you can edit a bunch of visual effects.

“You saturate an area of skin with green, or any other color depending on how good you are with the software,” Rowlett told BuzzFeed.

“Then use video editing software or an app on your phone to overlay a video.”

It makes for an image it’s nearly impossible not to be impressed by, whether you’re a Rick and Morty fan or not.

It has already got interest from people who weren’t considering tattoos before they found out this sort of thing was possible, and can you blame them?

He plans to make more use of the technology – and his own abilities – but explains “Rick and Morty just made sense”.

We wouldn’t be surprised to see more tattoos like this sooner rather than later.
