Here are all the new films and TV shows coming to Netflix UK in February
22 January 2018

The entire nation is now hunkered down for the winter in a daily battle against the never-ending cold and that flu bug that everyone keeps saying is really, really bad this year. (Side note: I still haven’t had a jab – is that bad?)

But there’s one thing that we can always rely on to lift the nation’s spirits: fantastic new content on Netflix UK. Coming next month, we have a massive new sci-fi thriller series, a reboot of a TV classic and some old-school movies to sink our teeth into.

Here’s all the great stuff coming to the streaming service in February:

1. Altered Carbon

In this show’s distant future, human consciousness can be digitized and downloaded into different bodies. Brought back to life after 250 years by Laurens Bancroft (James Purefoy) the richest man on Earth, ex-Envoy soldier Takeshi Kovacs (Joel Kinnaman) must solve Bancroft’s attempted murder for the chance to live again in a world he doesn’t recognise.

It’s based on the 2002 book by British author Richard K. Morgan and the show’s star Joel Kinnaman has described Altered Carbon as “intelligent sci-fi”, and “something that’s never been done before”.

2. Seven Seconds

In a society fraught with racial tension, sensational headlines, and an audience who would rather be entertained than informed, seven seconds can mean life or death. This new anthology crime drama from The Killing’s Veena Sud gives viewers a glimpse into the human stories behind the headlines.

3. Everything Sucks!

4. Queer Eye

This reboot of the classic, Emmy-winning makeover show has a whole new cast and is ready to make America fabulous again… one makeover at a time. But considering how much sexual identity politics has moved on since Queer Eye was last on TV, could this show feel slightly outdated? We don’t think so but we’ll certainly be watching to find out!

5. 8 Mile

This Eminem classic was a smash-hit when it was released in 2002 and made more than $200million at the box office, so die-hard fans will be very excited to see it coming to Netflix.
