Here are the odds for who will claim the throne by the end of ‘Game of Thrones’ Season 6

With just under two weeks until Game of Thrones returns to our screens, the hype is well and truly alive. And with Season Six going off-piste and getting ahead of George RR Martin’s books, it’s safe to say it’s going to tackle a lot of big questions. Like: is Jon Snow really going to stay dead?

Since we have no idea what will unfold, the ShortList office’s collective book-knowledge and conspiracy theories can only get us so far. But the latest odds from Paddy Power suggest the power-struggle for the Iron Throne is far from over.

The bookies have given odds on who will be sitting on the Iron Throne at the end of the season. Currently the current King, Tommen Baratheon (well, Lannister, but you know the drill) has the highest odds of retaining the crown at 9/4, suggesting that despite the threat of the High Sparrow, the golden-haired bastard might be alright this season.

Way down the bottom, with the worst odds, is Jon Snow, with a 33/1 chance of conquering Westeros this year. His low odds shouldn’t come as much of a surprise – he’s dead, in case you’ve been living under a rock – but the rumours of his resurrection have been circling about since he was knifed at the end of Season Five.
