HBO is looking for a pair of twins to star in its 'Game of Thrones' spinoff

Even more clues about the prequel show

HBO is looking for a pair of twins to star in its 'Game of Thrones' spinoff
26 November 2018

Of the many dark and twisted plots in Game of Thrones, perhaps the darkest and most twisted of all was the brother-sister twin incest - or twincest, if you will - between Kingslayer Jamie Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) and maniacal Queen of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros Cersei (Lena Headey).

The golden-haired siblings were infamously caught bonking in Winterfell by peeping tom Bran Stark (who was swiftly thrown out of a window) and Jamie even forced himself on his sister right next to the corpse of their incestuous, bastard son. Yep, it’s easy to forget to just how depraved this show can be.

And it seems that HBO are keen to keep up the twin theme with the announcement that the US network is looking to cast a pair of twins in the upcoming Game of Thrones prequel show.

First up, spinoff showrunner Jane Goldman and her team are looking for a pair of twins, aged 23-29, to play sisters, according to fan site Watchers on the Wall.

“The first two characters come in a pack, together, which can only mean one thing: twins,” the site reports. “Though twin minors are usually cast to share the role of a single child character, doubling work hours without breaking child labor laws, that’s not the case this time: they’re looking for real twins, aged 23 to 29, to play twin sisters in their twenties.”

Next up, HBO is looking for a “genuine Scandinavian, Eastern European or German actor” to play a man in his ’70s.

In the past these character descriptions have usually been issued for Wilding characters from Beyond the Wall, so this could mean we’re heading way up north again to encounter the White Walkers in the prequel series.

The spinoff series is expected to begin filming in a few months - and the earliest we’re likely to see the show is 2020.
