Here's the first official trailer for George RR Martin's new Netflix show 'Nightflyers'

Obviously don't ever go to space, OBVIOUSLY

Here's the first official trailer for George RR Martin's new Netflix show 'Nightflyers'
20 July 2018

George RR Martin isn’t just on a dragons and molten-hot-gold-on-the-face tip, he’s also on a people-going-mad-in-space vibe, as is evident in the latest official trailer for his new Netflix show, Nightflyers. Not to be confused with the Stephen King book/film the Nightflier, it is instead to be confused with the 1987 film Nightflyers, because that is based on the same novella that the Netflix show takes as inspiration.

So far, we’ve already had one trailer thrown our way, but this is like a cool, official one, ain’t it? More exciting and fun, is this one - new footage and stuff, wicky wild wild west. Here it is:

Scary, no? Bit like Event Horizon, ain’t it? Weird shit going on in a spaceship - love it.

According to Netflix, the synopsis, in case you couldn’t glean it from the trailer (impressive if you did), is:

Nightflyers follows eight maverick scientists and a powerful telepath who embark on an expedition to the edge of our solar system aboard The Nightflyer - a ship with a small tightknit crew and a reclusive captain – in the hope of making contact with alien life. But when terrifying and violent events begin to take place they start to question each other – and surviving the journey proves harder than anyone thought.”

And in Martin’s words, it’s “Psycho in space”, which sounds very good, much as “Psycho underwater” would be, or “Psycho: The New Class”. Interested in Psycho anywhere, to be honest. Psycho in Lidl, Psycho on a swing, Psycho looking out the living room window on his tiptoes waiting for his Domino’s.

Anyway, Nightflyers hits Netflix in 2019.
