Someone's made a trailer for a 'Friends' reunion movie and it's brilliant
23 January 2018

The last Friends episode aired back in May 2004 but you’d never know they’d been gone, given that you’re never more than a channel change away from a trusty old repeat - first on Channel 4, then on Comedy Central and most recently with the unleashing of all 236 episodes on Netflix.

However, while some people have been desperately trying to prove their wokeness but pointing out all of the problematic issues with the show, while others (including us) have been busy poring over the errors that crept their way into filming, at the end of the day it remains a hugely-adored show.

Which is why this superb mock trailer for a Friends movie is such a bittersweet experience.

Entitled, The One With The Reunion, it’s been has been created by YouTube channel Smasher, dab hands at creating concept trailers.

The synopsis for the ‘film’ reads thusly:

Friends The Movie is both, a continuation and finale to the hit TV series Friends.

This picks up a few years where the final season left off with Ben and Emma grown up. Mike and Phoebe have trouble with marriage, Monica and Chandler are getting a divorce, Joey couldn’t find someone, and Ross and Rachel have trouble after many years of not being together! Filled with some surprise appearances by today’s actors, along with some old friends (no pun intended), this movie will be an all-star extravaganza, while showing a lesson in being there for each other.

Watching the trailer, it’s hard not to get swept up in a massive nostalgia hit, but of course, before you get too excited, remember that a) this has next to no chance of ever becoming a reality and b) remember the atrocity that was Sex and the City 2? Be careful what you wish for.
