Danger Mouse Returning to TV

First it was Bananaman, now Danger Mouse is making a comeback. It's almost as if they can't think of any new ideas isn't it?

It's been announced that the much-loved secret agent cartoon rodent will be making a comeback in an all-new, 52-episode series to be broadcast next year on CBBC.

Danger Mouse was originally voiced by Sir David Jason, with sidekick Penfold performed by the late Terry Scott; there's been no word on who will voice the new version. No news yet either on whether Baron Silas Greenback will be making a comeback; who knows what evil deeds he's been up to since the show originally ended in 1992

Danger Mouse's iconic white suit will return, though his eye patch will be replaced by an "i-patch", apparently with all the latest cutting-edge technology. His HQ will also remain inside a red post box, so he can continue to deliver justice to criminals.

Fans of the original, which ran for just over 10 years, will be pleased to hear that co-creator Brian Cosgrove is on board to be a consultant. He said about the news series: "When I helped to create Danger Mouse I had no idea the show would be such a huge success both in the UK and overseas. I am delighted that a whole new generation will be introduced to his daring deeds and thrilled to be part of this new 21st century series. I can’t wait to find out what he’s been up to for the last 23 years."

As long as the amazing theme tune has been retained, then we'll be happy.
