Big Narstie is (finally) getting his own TV show

Why has it taken this long?

Big Narstie is (finally) getting his own TV show
05 February 2018

Only now, in 2018, is everybody wising up to the force of nature that is Big Narstie. The grime MC and Very Funny DudeTM has been on the scene for years and years now, going about his business, putting out music, filming YouTube videos, and only now is the world at large taking notice.

After a triple-threat of show-stealing performances on Celebrity Gogglebox, Big Fat Quiz Of The Year and a swift stint presenting the weather on Good Morning Britain, he’s rightfully acquired the eyes and ears of TV execs, who have been scrambling to swipe him up and get him on the telly, centre stage. So say hello to The Big Narstie Show, an upcoming Channel 4 non-broadcast pilot that will hopefully lead to a full series run.

The show will be a mix of current affairs, chat, TV, showbiz, phone-ins and food, and joining the BDL founder will be Mo Gilligan (better known to all you internet ‘lot’ as Mo The Comedian)

Syeda Irtizaali, commissioning editor at Channel 4 says:

“We’re thrilled to work with Big Narstie again, as it’s clear from his previous Channel 4 appearances that he is en route to becoming something of a national treasure. It really feels like an opportunity for a brilliant and ridiculous show which flips the conventional magazine show format on its head.”

Executive producer Ben Wicks added:

“Big Narstie is an incredibly talented, charismatic, charming and funny man who has some of the best turns of phrase the English language has ever known.

“We are very excited about working with him, and Mo Gilligan, the most must-see comedian on the circuit whose inimitable high-energy style is sure to take TV by storm. This is a show I cannot wait to watch let alone make.”

I also share this enthusiasm, and will 100% be watching this if it’s picked up, which it has to be, right? Who doesn’t want more Big Narstie? I do, and if television execs don’t bow down to my every whim, then I am entirely misguided about my place in this terrible world.
