Behind The Scenes Of Game Of Thrones Season 5

Behind The Scenes Of Game Of Thrones Season 5
16 March 2015

Did you know that Game of Thrones kills off its characters on such a lavish scale that they employ their own weapons master? Because store-bought blades just won't cut it.

As the HBO bandwagon continues its rampage toward 13 April (don't pretend you didn't have it marked in your diary), the Game of Thrones creators have released a set of behind-the-scenes shorts to provide an insight into the vast scale of the show's production machine.

The Weapons of Dorne sees aforementioned weapons master Tommy Dunne discuss the intricate devices of the Dornish - the desert dwelling house from the south of Westeros whose Prince Oberyn met with a crushing end at the close of season five. From serpentine whips to twisted knives, the detail that goes into making the pointy-end of the show's porps is astonishing.

The Set Design short introduces the design army behind each and every scene of the ten episode series, revealing some of the larger set pieces that will feature in season six.

And no, they still won't tell us how they wash all the blood out of the costumes.

Game of Thrones Season Six arrives on Sky Atlantic on 13 April
