Trapped in the Closet Could Be Heading to Broadway
20 November 2012

Fans of R Kelly and absurd-yet-brilliant hip-hoperas: we'd advise you to sit down before you read on.

Not only is Trapped in the Closet back for its next installment this Friday (23rd November) on IFC - who aired the comeback chapter 23 in October , but it seems it might be making the move to Broadway as well. Yes, that's right - Sylvester and co in real life.

R Kelly made the revelation during a Q&A at an advance premiere of the next volume of the R&B opera at Sunshine Theatre in New York City, saying that he'd "just got an offer from Broadway to do a Broadway version".

Even more excitingly, he then announced that - if it goes ahead - he might even star in it himself, saying that he would appear in "some of the cities, I can't guarantee all of them...that's what's being negotiated right now." But, he said that he's already started adapting the script for the stage version.

This is too much for us, we're off for a lie down in advance of Friday.
