Zlatan Ibrahimovic announces his move to LA Galaxy in the most Zlatan way possible

The Premier League didn’t get to see much of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, but we mostly enjoyed the short time we had with him.

The Swedish striker has been more myth than man for much of his career, opening his autobiography with a cast of characters and comparing himself to lions, among other things.

Indeed, it’s easy to forget among all of this that he has been able to call himself one of the best footballers in the world for more than a decade.

So, while he has left Manchester United this week, we have reason to believe it’s the start of a new chapter, rather than the end of his story.

Ibrahimovic has joined LA Galaxy, his first venture into Major League Soccer.

While the league has some big names already, including his new teammate and former England international defender Ashley Cole, none are as big as Zlatan.

So, how did the club announce his arrival? Well, they haven’t yet… but he has announced himself in the only way he knows how.

He has taken out a full-page ad in the Los Angeles Times, effectively pre-empting the gratitude of an entire city.

It makes almost too much sense for Zlatan to have wound up in Hollywood, to the point that you wonder how he has never played for the Galaxy before.

His last Manchester United appearance came all the way back in December, so he might need a while to get up to speed, but we expect him to make quite the impact on the pitch for his new club.
