What a time to be alive.
In a helter skelter footballing season - one which which has seen the likes of Leicester City rise from plucky underdogs to Premier League favourites admired the world over (even by Zinedine Zidane) the FA Cup too has enjoyed something of a romantic renaissance of late.
Just take this weekend, when Arsenal, the current cup holders who hadn’t lost a game in the competition since February 2013, were dumped out by Watford; Everton thumped Chelsea while Diego Costa tenderly embraced Gareth Barry; Crystal Palace booked their own trip to Wembley for the semi-finals, and Manchester United were lucky to salvage a home draw vs West Ham - another side springing a few surprises right now.
There were some brilliant goals flying in too, with these two wonderstrikes arguably the best of the lot. But which gets your vote? Let us know below.
Dimitri Payet vs Manchester United
West Ham’s diminutive genius just gets better and better. Lining up a free kick from over 30 yards out, few fancied his chances of beating David De Gea with a curled effort - surely he’d need a knuckleball sort of technique? But he knew. Just watch his devilish micro smile seconds before striking it, as if he knew full well it would majestically rise over the wall and land in the far corner of the net.
Romelu Lukaku vs Chelsea
Another player at Kanye-levels of confidence right now. Reminding his former employers what they lost with a classy brace on Saturday night at Goodison Park, Everton’s hotshot opened the scoring with this mazy dribble and finish, even managing to send England defender Gary Cahill to the shop for a Mars Bar.
Adlène Guedioura vs Arsenal
Quite simply a 'thunder bastard' of a shot, promptly finishing a well-rounded move from Watford and effectively killing any Arsenal hopes of an equaliser. Kudos to the Arsenal ground staff though - how their nets managed to stop the ball from ripping a hole in The Emirates stadium before shattering the sound barrier is quite frankly beyond us.
