Watch this utterly glorious impossible angle own goal in Fiji

Nothing warms the cockles more than a glorious own goal, the purest form of comedy that exists in the modern world.

Some can be put down to the elements, others over exuberance, some from an unlucky bobble, or others from a lack of concentration.

We're not quite sure where this one comes from, other than straight out of the top drawer.

The unlucky fellow was goalkeeper Michael Roche, who was playing in the OFC Champions League - contested by teams from New Zealand, Vanuatu, Tahiti, Fiji, the Solomon Islands, New Caledonia and Papua New Guinea - for Tahitians AS Tefana, against the Fijian side Nadi on the first day of the league.

Despite his side enjoying a 6-1 victory, the game will be remembered for the '1', as Roche kicked a throw-in straight into his own goal, from the tightest of angles. It was a truly special finish, in more ways than one.

It's not Roche's first time in the spotlight - he was in sticks for Tahiti when they lost 10-0 to Spain in the Confederations Cup in 2013 - which, to be fair, was a better result than many people expected them to get.

And if we didn't know any better, the quality of goalkeeping at the other end suggests that both goalkeepers had some interest in getting this match to a 6-1 finish... (allegedly).
