Well, that was all a bit underwhelming really wasn't it?
While Iceland and Wales stole the hearts of football fans everywhere with their underdog performances, the final stages of the tournament proved to be something of a damp squib, with two forgettable semi-finals followed by a drab final which saw Portugal score an unlikely triumph - playing most of the game without their star player Ronaldo, who suffered an early injury - to score their first-ever major tournament win.
Of course, not playing didn't mean that he wasn't still centre of attention, whipping his shirt off within seconds of the finish.
Despite being arguably the weakest winners since Greece in 2004 (who, of course, beat Portugal in the final), we congratulate Portugal on their triumph - here's the story of the night in Twitter form...
Ronaldo is injured early and the world offers their condolences
Cruel but funny
Who thought this was a good idea?
In the absence of any action, the moths were the real stars of the show
It wasn't a classic match

Portugal are a sensitive bunch
And then, would you believe it, a goal. But not everyone was celebrating...

The art of defending is dead.
Absolute crap, can't say anyone really deserved to win.
