In just a little over four months, we’ll be able to enjoy the tradition of watching England’s footballers crash and burn at a major international tournament.

Gareth Southgate’s team have been drawn against Belgium, Panama and Tunisia in the group stage, and will fancy their chances of progressing. We all know that’s not how it works, though.

The very least we should hope for, however, is the players looking decent while playing a style of football that sits somewhere between ‘national embarrassment’ and ‘bafflingly competent’.

Luckily, with Nike dropping the kit for the upcoming tournament in Russia, we’re no longer left guessing.

The home shirt fits with Nike’s simplistic approach to international shirts in 2018, remaining almost entirely white save for a subtle red trim on the collar. The socks are white, too, while the shorts are a familiar dark blue.

Meanwhile, if and when England are required to use their away kit, they’ll go with two-tone red shirts with white shorts and red socks.

And we can’t forget the Three Lions, topped off with a star for England’s World Cup win in 1966.

A few of the other countries to qualify for the World Cup have already unveiled their kits, including Germany…

And Spain…

According to the FA, England’s new kit will get its first outing on home soil (for the men’s senior team, at least) in the game against Italy on March 27.

That match is part of a March double-header, with England’s men travelling to the Netherlands for a friendly four days earlier.
