Cristiano Ronaldo’s Juventus medical results confirm he's a damn superhero
24 July 2018

His shock transfer to Juventus sent tremors through the footballing world and with a signing deal of £88m, Cristiano Ronaldo recently became one of priciest superstar sportsmen of all time.

And as part of that transfer, the 33-year-old had to undergo a medical to see what sort of physical level he was at.

Unsurprisingly for the impossibly hench player, he has an immaculate bill of health. What is surprising, however, is just how young his physical capacity is, especially considering he’s heading towards the twilight of his career.

Football analyst and commentator Matteo Bonetti tweeted that with a body fat of just 7%, a muscular mass of 50% and top speed of 33.98km during the World Cup, Ronaldo has the physical capacity of a 20-year-old. You read that right… he has the body of a man 13 years his junior.

“I’m going to try to show that I am a top player, as usual. I’m going to work hard in training,” Ronaldo said upon signing for the Serie A club, according to The Independent.

“I don’t think I have to show what I am more than that - you know my stats. But I am very ambitious and I like challenges. I don’t like to stay in my comfort zone, I like to seize new challenges.

“After the experiences in Manchester and in Madrid, I’d like to mark the history of Juventus. I like challenges, again, and I hope everything will go very well.”

Ronaldo, who was recently handed a two-year suspended sentence and an €18.8 million fine in a tax evasion case, is undeniably proud of his bod and regularly posts workout snaps and videos to his 136 million Instagram followers…

But if you ever have any hope of reaching Ronaldo’s levels of physical fitness, you’ll have to be prepared to put the hours in.

In an interview with Goal.com where he discussed his training regimen, he said: “In training we do a few laps of the pitch, stretching, and cardio exercises to warm-up. Make sure you do something similar in your training, even if it is jogging to the gym or a warm up on the treadmill or bicycle.

“We do a lot of sprinting drills in training and they can be incorporated into your workout whether you are in the gym or outdoors. Try and add it to every workout you do.

“Fit in exercise wherever you can. You can do an abs workout in your bedroom when you wake up in the morning or before you go to bed. If you get into a routine then it makes it easier as it will become a habit.”

So start those crunches now, people!
