Who? Young Braves

What’s the story? It's high time we had a bit of 'proper indie' back in the mainstream and perhaps Shropshire quartet Young Braves are the band to do it. Comprising of brothers Ollie and Elliot Scott, Jacob Ferguson and Dan Bryne, they'd been making waves in their local area before Huw Stephens picked up their EP Youth, giving it support on Radio 1. We're delighted to be premiering the video for their new single Quicksand here on The ShortListen, and it's a slice of classic late nineties/early noughties, Idlewild-style jangly-but-driving indie, with Ollie Scott's pure and direct vocals ringing out nicely. If they can write a song as good as When I Argue I See Shapes they'll be indie dancefloor heroes before they know it.

For fans of: Idlewild, The Twilight Sad

In three words: Classic indie songwriting
