The ShortListen: Weird Dreams (no. 249)

Blissful electronica from Londoner

The ShortListen: Weird Dreams (no. 249)
10 February 2016

Who? Weird Dreams

What’s the story? Weird Dreams - the musical vehicle of Londoner Doran Edwards - released their first album, Choreography, back in 2012 and now, after four years of silence, unveil this beautiful track. It's a hypnotic experience, with the same chord sequence repeated throughout, with gently shifting sounds weaving in and out, while Doran repeats the mantra: "Let the ladders be". It's one of those strange songs that makes you stop whatever you're doing and contemplate life - before you know it, you're staring blankly ahead while your mind implores you to think of what more there might be. It's a lovely experience - so get listening right now.

For fans of: The Album Leaf, School of Seven Bells

In three words: Hypnotic, blissful electronica
