The ShortListen: Sundara Karma (no. 248)

Reading indie four-piece make break for the big league

The ShortListen: Sundara Karma (no. 248)
09 February 2016

Who? Sundara Karma

What’s the story? Finally, after many years, Britain's indie discos might soon have something new to play. Along with Blossoms and The Hunna, Sundara Karma are finally threatening to bring guitar bands back to the mainstream, and this latest track should help their cause no end. We've featured them here on The ShortListen several times before and another strong track brings them back, with A Young Understanding showing off driving rhythms and a nicely expansive chorus, with lead singer Oscar Lulu's strong vocals leading the whole thing along. We still fancy a rereleased Loveblood will be the one to be the big hit, but this will do nicely for now.

For fans of: White Lies, The Hunna

In three words: Future indie anthem
