Who? Pesky!

What’s the story? Yes, we know it's only just December, but this track is so good we thought we'd make an exception and feature an early festive cover. This slice of Crimbo joy comes courtesy of Ulverston seven-piece Pesky! who made a splash everywhere a few months back when they released their debut EP on legendary indie Fierce Panda - a frankly remarkable piece of work considering that all the members are all aged under 13. Now they cover the Darlene Love classic Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) and transform the original into a winsome, melancholic, yet energetic full-on indie version. As you would expect from kids who are still growing up and improving all the time, it's a leap forward vocally from their original stuff - and at two and half minutes it doesn't outstay its welcome. If you can't get excited about Christmas after listening to this, then you've got a heart of stone. We look forward to their output next year.

For fans of: Christmas

In three words: Festive indie anthem
