The ShortListen: COLOUR (no. 301)

Northwest band return with blistering new track

The ShortListen: COLOUR (no. 301)
27 April 2016

Who? COLOUR

What’s the story? We featured the Northwest quartet COLOUR back in November and now they're back with the lead song, Fiction, from their self-produced debut EP, KAFÉ. It's a blistering track which builds on the promise we spotted before, leaping out of the traps from the off with some Foals-esque guitar, winding arpeggiators and frenetic drums. The pace doesn't let up, before it goes into an almost Peter Gabriel-on-steroids chorus with the intriguing lyric: "she don't talk to me any more than she talks to God". Keep an eye on these guys, they could be set for big things.

For fans of: Foals, Two Door Cinema Club

In three words: Frenetic rhythmic indie
