The Killers have released their latest Christmas single and it's great
01 December 2015

For a band who hail from a town where there’s more chance of pigs in the air than snow, The Killers sure do love a Christmas song.

The Las Vegas outfit has unleashed rockabilly merriment on the holiday every year since 2005, and now they're at it again, kicking off December with their latest effort, Dirt Sledding - arguably their best festive effort so far.

Completing their unofficial ‘Santa Trilogy’ after 2007’s Don’t Shoot Me Santa and 2012’s I Feel It In My Bones, the video is directed by fellow ‘Nevadan’ Matthew Gray Gubler and stars actor Ryan Pardey, once again playing the most unkempt St Nick you’ll ever lay eyes on.

After a melancholic opening it isn’t long before Brandon and the gang rock up for a fireside jam, bringing bells, neat riffs and heaps of yuletide spirit as Santa, possibly enjoying a Fear & Loathing experience, dances around in the desert alongside people in bizarre costumes. Like we say, odd - and there's some Elvis thrown in there too.

Who knows, maybe that's the newborn king everyone keeps talking about.
