Finally, The Beatles are going to Let It Be

The music of the Fab Four is finally set to join the music streaming libraries of the world from midnight of Christmas Eve, where it will become available for members of the following services:

  • Spotify
  • Apple Music
  • Slacker
  • Tidal
  • Groove
  • Rhapsody
  • Deezer
  • Google Play
  • Amazon Prime

Details are yet to emerge as the nature of the deal that has been signed by Apple Records to bring the extensive back-catalogue onto the web: rumours had circulated earlier this year that a streaming service was working to gain exclusive rights to the records, but mercifully, such an agreement fell through.

Spotify has released a statement detailing that 13 remastered studio albums will be available, including:

  • Please Please Me
  • With The Beatles
  • A Hard Day's Night
  • Beatles For Sale
  • Help!
  • Rubber Soul
  • Revolver
  • Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
  • Magical Mystery Tour
  • The Beatles
  • Yellow Submarine
  • Abbey Road
  • Let It Be
  • The Beatles 1962 – 1966
  • The Beatles 1967 – 1970
  • Past Masters (Volumes 1 & 2)
  • 1

The Beatles official website is now displaying a rotating globe that shows which parts of the world the streaming service will be available in, following the midnight line around the world.

Quite whether the arrival of the 17 former number ones and extensive album catalogue will be able to compete with the likes of Justin Bieber is yet to be seen: while the quality of the band's music propelled them to legendary status long before the advent of digital music, the sheer volume of records they've sold could dent their streaming performance. In short - the number of physical releases they've sold means many fans won't have a cause to stream.

Let us know if you'll adding Beatles tracks to your playlists come Christmas Eve below.

Merry Christmas.
