So there's no Oasis reunion planned just yet it seems.

Noel Gallagher today announced details of his new album, as well as premiering the first single taken from it, titled In The Heat Of The Moment.

The album, the second under his 'Noel Gallagher & The High Flying Birds' moniker, will be released on March 2nd next year and is called Chasing Yesterday. It features a guest performance by Smiths legend Johnny Marr on the closing track - which will be the second single released. The album has been self-produced, after his usual producer, Dave Sardy, was unavailable. Speaking at fan Q&A, Noel said "I enjoyed the freedom of it but not the responsibility...I'm used to asking people, 'What are we doing today?' and then people were asking me that question. I finished it the day after the World Cup final. I finished it early, I've been sitting on it a while, it's been burning a hole in my pocket."

He's also announced a UK arena tour, to take place place at the start of March, around the album's release. As for the song itself, it sounds like a combination of D'You Know What I Mean? and AKA...What A Life! - so Oasis and Noel fans will not be disappointed.
