Kanye interrupts wedding speech with 'Imma let you finish'

If there's a stage and a microphone, you can never feel truly safe if Kanye West is on the same continent as you.

The outspoken rapper decided to perform yet another stage invasion on Saturday night, interrupting a wedding speech to reprise his famous 'I'mma let you finish' line at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.

But for once it was entirely light-hearted, as he was a guest at his friend Dave Grutman's wedding in Miami. He rushed the stage during a wedding toast saying, "I'mma let you finish, but Dave and Isabela had one of the best weddings of all time!", which was met with roars of laughter from the audience. Grutman is a well-known club owner and promoter in the Miami area; many other A-listers were on hand to laugh at Kanye's gag.

West attracted universal criticism when he pulled the same stunt at the VMAs seven years ago, interrupting Taylor Swift's acceptance speech for Best Female Video, for You Belong With Me, to boorishly claim that Beyonce should have won for Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It), as it was "one of the best videos of all time", leaving Taylor dumbfounded.

She later responded to the incident by writing the song Innocent, which referred to the incident, and which she performed at the following year's MTV VMAs and which seemed to put the matter to bed. However, Kanye restarted the controversy by including the lyrics, "I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/Why? I made that bitch famous" in a song, Famous, on his latest album The Life Of Pablo.
