When four cheeky scoundrels emerged from Dundee in 2006 armed with a swagger and a few poppy tunes, few could have predicted that nearly ten years later they'd be embarking on their fifth album, having outlasted virtually all of their rivals.

Since their platinum-selling debut Hats Off To The Buskers, the band's sound has gradually evolved whilst still retaining the pop sensibility of their earlier work - but they've taken something of a twist with the first single from their upcoming record, Ropewalk, which is due for release on 8 June.

It's been produced by Strokes guitarist Albert Hammond Jr & frequent Strokes engineer Gus Oberg and showcases a lean, funky side of the band which we've not seen before, together with a restrained vocal from Kyle Falconer, which immediately brings to mind his work with Mark Ronson on The Bike Song.

We're delighted to premiere the video for the first single, entitled Marriage - watch below and see what you think.

Falconer says, “I would say that this record has really taken us out of our comfort zone. It was a huge compliment having Albert & Gus produce the album and we're really excited with the result. I think it's our most inventive album yet, we really opened ourselves up to creative possibilities and thankfully the vision paid off."

Marriage is released 27 April, Ropewalk is released 8 June. For more information head to theviewareonfire.com
