Will the real slim shavey please stand up?

Eminem has grown a beard and it's really unsettling
26 June 2017

Eminem is well known for his shocking behaviour. At the height of his ‘90s fame, you couldn’t move for stories where the rapper caused outrage and appalled people.

But he’s calmed down in recent years, getting past his demons and settling in for a calmer life mostly away from the public eye.

  • Speaking of notable facial hair, these are the best beard oils to make your beard a thing of envy.

Until now, because he’s just shocked the world with his most outrageous act yet. An act that has shaken us to our very core. Eminem has… grown a beard.

There he is, look. It’s Eminem’s face with a beard on it.

Eminem. With a beard.

He showed off his new look a the premiere for The Defiant Ones, a new HBO four part documentary featuring Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine. (The trailer looks pretty nifty, by the way).

The new look had Eminem fans pretty messed up.

People weren’t necessarily against it, they were more confused.

Some keen-eyed fans pointed out add new layer to a verse in Em’s 2002 track ‘Business’.

"Can't leave rap alone, the game needs me / 'Til we grow beards, get weird and disappear / Into the mountains, nothin' but clowns down here / But we ain't fuckin' around round here,” he rapped.

Others, meanwhile, took the stubble as a sign that he'd been back in the studio.

Or maybe, maybe, Eminem is just 44 years old (how??!) and wanted to try a new look? Either way, it’s pretty unsettling – it reminds us of when bald men who’ve been bald forever suddenly grow a full head of hair. Like, it doesn’t look bad, it’s just weird, isn’t it? We’re not used to it. So if celebs could all refrain from ever changing their appearances in future to stop us having to decide how he feel about it, that’d be grand. Cheers.
