James Bond musical in the works

"The name's Bond... Jaaaaaames Boooooooonnnnnnddddd!"

Well, something like that any way.

Word comes from theatrical news site Playbill that 007 is headed to Broadway, with Merry Saltzman (daughter of Bond film producer Harry Saltzman) securing the rights to create a stage adaptation.

Currently titled James Bond: The Musical, the show will have an original story penned by novelist Dave Clarke (Keeping Hannah Waiting), with music by country composer Jay Henry Weisz (we would list his works, but you haven't heard of them. Man in the Bar? Thought not).

While the story won't be drawn from one of Ian Fleming's original works, nor any of the famed films, Saltzman told Playbill that it would use "several Bond villains, plus some new ones". She also outlined that there would be a new Bond girl, a point of emphasis that causes us to wonder if this will be a stage adaptation more in the vein of the older, gadgets'n'gals 007 films, rather than attempting to follow in the stern lines of Daniel Craig's current spy.

Set to open on Broadway or in Las Vegas in late 2017 or early 2018, we've had a crack at giving the musical some more suitably camp titles below. Let us your favourite.
