Just when we thought we were suffering from Star Wars overload, those guys over at Lucasfilm knew exactly what would reel us back in to the addictive, intergalactic world.

Two new clips from the upcoming Solo: A Star Wars Story have just been released – and they look very cool.

First up, we’ve been a given a look at the very first meeting of Han Solo (Alden Ehrenreich) and Captain Lando Calrissian (Donald Glover).

“Is this seat taken?” Solo says, as he joins Lando for a game of sabacc while Qi’ra (Emilia Clarke) watches in the background.

(Sabacc, by the way, is basically a high-stakes Star Wars card game.)

“Can I ask you a question, Captain Calrissian?” Han adds. “I heard a story about you, I was wondering if it’s true.”

“Everything you’ve heard about me is true,” Lando replies.

We’ve also got a little peek at Chewbacca and Woody Harrelson’s Beckett playing a game of “holochess,” which genuinely looks like a really fun game.

“All you gotta do is think a few moves a head and anticipate your opponent. There’s a lesson to be learned here,” Beckett says. Sounds important.

Disney and Lucasfilm released the synopsis of the film earlier this year and it goes a little something like this:

Board the Millennium Falcon and journey to a galaxy far, far away in Solo: A Star Wars Story, an all-new adventure with the most beloved scoundrel in the galaxy. Through a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, Han Solo meets his mighty future copilot Chewbacca and encounters the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, in a journey that will set the course of one of the Star Wars saga’s most unlikely heroes.

  • You can watch Solo: A Star Wars Story in UK cinemas on 25 May
