eBay: an online marketplace catering to the buying habits of those looking for everything from limited-edition Star Wars figures, novelty wine openers, and, more recently, the velociraptor cage from Jurassic Park.

But don't think it's the only cinematic oddity to make its way onto the website and appeal to a really niche market - there have been plenty odder, as these peculiar props below illustrate....

Jonah Hill’s blood-stained trousers – Superbad

Buying second hand clothing will always carry the risk of questionable stains. Bidders on this item, however knew what they were getting with Seth’s now infamous party outfit from Superbad, despite the fact no one matched the $1m asking price.

Jennifer Lopez’s Towel - Gigli

It might be one of the most insufferable pieces of cinema to ever see the light of day, but that didn’t stop one eBay buyer from snapping up the towel Jennifer Lopez drapes around herself in Gigli for $525 - roughly twice as much as the film’s gross we suspect.

Price sold for: £316

T-1000 shirt – Terminator 2: Judgment Day

If you’re going to pay an obscene amount for fancy dress, start with this iconic shirt once worn by Robert Patrick’s time traveling android T-1000, and shot to bits by Arnold Schwarzenegger’s shotgun-toting Terminator.

Asking price: £1,495

Death trap device – Saw 3D

If there’s one thing more worrying than the strap clad device itself, it’s the seller’s enthusiasm. Describing the detail which it claims a victim in Saw 3D’s most macabre offing (“...finally, the spikes stabbed her through the eyes and mouth”), they finish with a hilarious if worrying disclaimer: “It is not guaranteed to work -- it is meant for display purposes only. Do not use this item." We're glad that's been cleared up.

Asking price: £17,325

Frogs – Magnolia

Proving that sometimes CGI just won’t do, Paul Thomas Anderson went to the trouble of using rubber frogs for the aftermath of a cataclysmic moment in his freaky 1999 drama Magnolia.

Sold for: £6.59

Jennifer Connelly’s mobile phone – Hulk

You won’t like me when I’m Ang Lee,” quipped most fan boys of 2003’s comic book flop Hulk and its misfiring director. Which might explain why a studio exec went to the trouble of signing a document to prove the authenticity of a mobile phone used by Jennifer Connelly in the film. Needs must.

Sold for: £60

Jeff Goldblum’s feet – The Fly

Admittedly not the sort of footwear you’d wear outside the house, but having been part of an Oscar win for Best Makeup with cult classic The Fly, these mutated boots, used and signed by Goldblum and still up for sale, are a piece of Hollywood history all the same.

Asking price: £2,500

Drum Cap – The World Is Not Enough

Weapons, watches, weapons disguised as watches - we’ve become accustom to predictable 007 memorabilia over the last half century, although quite what anyone would want with a Russian chemical drum briefly seen in The World Is Not Enough, is anyone’s guess. Note for any aspiring super villain: the drum cap is missing.

Asking price: £199

White tuxedo [Boats and Hoes] – Step Brothers

While nothing says hip hop video quite like bright white suits on a yacht, Will Ferrell and John C Reilly’s men-children of Step Brothers don’t really count. So it's testament to the film’s enduring popularity then, that the tux Reilly wore has since found its way onto eBay.
