Website Suspends Dark Knight Comments After Death Threats

Rotten Tomatoes, a site which aggregates critics' thoughts on movies, has been forced to suspend user comments on The Dark Knight Rises, after fans reacted with fury to bad reviews.

Whilst the overall rating for the latest Batman installment stands at a very healthy 87%, a few critics have inevitably found the movie not quite to their tastes; Marshall Fine declared that it was 'thunderously clunky', while Christy Lemire called it a 'letdown'.

However, fans have reacted with anger, with an astonishing 460 comments of vehement disagreement being received before the website temporarily pulled the plug for the first time in their history, due to staff being unable to police the comments. This comes despite the fact that the film doesn't even open until Friday.

Respondents' thoughts included the opinion that Fine should "die in a fire", with another declaring that they wanted to beat him "with a thick rubber hose into a coma".

If only Fine had possessed the bravery to criticise Justin Bieber or Lady Gaga at the same time, he could have really set the cat amongst the pigeons.
