Unfinished Dennis Hopper Film Goes On Kickstarter
09 March 2015

Dennis Hopper was in all your favourite films: Speed, True Romance, Apocalypse Now, Waterwor…OK not all, but there’s no denying the man was a legendary figure in the film world.

He wrote, starred in and directed Easy Rider, perhaps the most important film of the 1960s. It was the movie that sparked the ‘70s revolution in Hollywood, which ultimately saved the industry.

It’s also fair to say that he was in more than a few turkeys (the less said about Firestarter 2: Rekindled, the better) but when he was good, there were few better. So when the chance comes to see the great man again, five years after his death, it’s worth taking.

Producer and director Linda Yellen was just a few scenes short of completing her movie The Last Film Festival, when Hopper, the star, died in 2010. The film is a comedy about a big shot movie producer (Hopper) whose recent flop of a film is accepted to just one terrible film festival. Hopper apparently saw a rough cut and loved it.

Now she wants to complete the film in time for the fifth anniversary of his death and needs your help. She’s just launched a Kickstarter page and is looking to raise $90,000.

For the chance to see Dennis Hopper take one last ride, it's not a lot.
