There’s a reason you’re unlikely to see fraternities at Oxford University playing beer pong or chanting while wearing a toga - however fun, it’s just not British.

For better or worse, those privileged few behind the school's drinking societies tend to be a good deal more formal, which is clearly evident by the outfits on show in the new trailer for The Riot Club, a forthcoming drama based on Laura Wade’s 2010 play Posh.

Starring Max Irons as one of the privileged members of the titular Riot Club (a fictionalised version of the notorious Bullingdon Club) and directed by Lone Scherfig (One Day), the clip promises heady excess, wasted champagne, drunken romance and, as the power goes to the heads of those who might well go on to run the country, full blown scandal.
