Watch the brilliant trailer for 'The Predator' here

This will be the best film you’ve ever seen, no take-backs

In case you were wondering, here is a list of films featuring The Predator, ranked in order, from worst to best:

Alien Vs. Predator (2004)
Alien Vs. Predator: Requiem (2007)
Predators (2010)
Predator 2 (1990)
Predator (1987)

But where will the new film - The Predator - fit within that storied canon? On the strength of the first trailer, it’s looking to be nearer the top end:

Yes please, is the reaction you should be having to that, yes absolute please

The film will be the first Predator movie since 2010’s Predators, and in a lovely twist of fate, will be written and directed by Shane Black (Iron Man III), who was actually in the very first Predator. So it seems we’re in good hands here - this guy’s been with the franchise from the beginning so it’s safe to say he won’t be keen on sodding it all up.

The cast is pretty ace, too - we’ve got Olivia Munn (Magic Mike), Boyd Holbrook (Logan) and Keegan-Michael Key (Key and Peele) as well as the best movie monster ever created, the got daym Predator, with his sick mask and dope shoulder cannon and wizard arm shooty-thing and flowing, sexy dreadlocks - 10/10, would invite to next BBQ.

Not much is known about the storyline, but supposedly it takes place between Predator 2 and Predators, and involves a load of unlucky grunts getting their stupid heads whacked off by the Big Man - that’s all you really need to know, isn’t it?

It’s out September 13, and that date cannot come soon enough. The Predator eh? What an absolute helmet.
