LEGO's new 7,500-piece 'Star Wars' Millennium Falcon is going straight on your Christmas List
01 September 2017

It’s now September, so it’s perfectly acceptable to start counting down the days to the big, annual festival that awaits us in December each year.

Yes, that’s right, let’s start getting excited about the new Star Wars movie.

Episode VIII: The Last Jedi hits UK screens on 15 December and today sees the start of the second ‘Force Friday’ (confusingly, it lasts all weekend), where a whole bunch of toys and merchandise from the upcoming extravaganza are released, with including a Phillips Dark Side shaver, a Jedi training drone and a toy version of BB-8’s evil-looking cousin BB-9E.

However, one of the standouts – so far – is this truly epic 7,541-piece LEGO Millennium Falcon, which will be the largest official set ever released by the legendary toymakers when it comes out on 1 October.

It’s a mighty 34 inches long, includes many interior rooms of the Falcon, crew members and weapons from both the classic trilogy and Episodes VII and VIII and will retail at a wallet-busting £649. You know you’re getting one though, don’t you?

According to LEGO, it “has all the details that Star Wars fans of any age could wish for, including intricate exterior detailing, upper and lower quad laser cannons, landing legs, lowering boarding ramp and a 4-minifigure cockpit with detachable canopy. Remove individual hull plates to reveal the highly detailed main hold, rear compartment and gunnery station.”

Yeah, we’re in. Just take a look at these promo pics.

And if that’s a little out of your price range, you can take your pick from the rest of the Star Wars series, including this excellent-looking new BB-8 for £84.99.

If you’ve got the dollar though – watch the Millennium Falcon announcement and designer vids below and get yourself galactically excited.
