The Russo brothers have revealed which characters died off-screen in 'Avengers: Infinity War'

What about Aunt May? WHAT ABOUT AUNT MAY?

The Russo brothers have revealed which characters died off-screen in 'Avengers: Infinity War'
14 May 2018

People die in Avengers: Infinity War, didn’t you know? Like, pretty famous characters - some of your superhero mates cark it in this one and everybody has been crying about it (although really, the knowledge that there are a million Marvel sequels in the works makes all these deaths lose about 99% of their emotional heft).

But there are a hell of a lot of characters in the MCU, and some of them are entirely absent from the movie, so what do we know of their fate?

You see, at the end of Infinity War, big bad wrinkly aubergine Thanos clicks his fingers and instantly destroys half of the entire universe - so where does that leave a bunch of other beloved characters, like Aunt May, for example - did they get dusted or not? But who died, exactly? Exactly who died, but? Died who but, exactly?

Well, The Huffington Post asked directors the Russos exactly that, and they duly answered.

So, in case you were wondering, here is the official fate of a load of other, off-screen characters. Get the tissues out, if you’re the greatest wimp this world has ever seen, anyway!

Howard the Duck (Seth Green, Guardians of the Galaxy 1 and 2): He’s alive, THANK GOD

Jane Foster (Natalie Portman, Thor and Thor: The Dark World): The Russos said that it would be too much of a spoiler to say, so she’ll probably dip her toe back into the MCU at some point

Shuri (Letitia Wright, Black Panther): The Russos refused to reveal, but come on, obviously she’s still alive - what would Black Panther 2 be without her?

Fake Loki (Matt Damon, Thor: Ragnarok): Soz guys, Damon is six feet under. Well, six feet over, in the air, as dust

Betty Ross (Liv Tyler, Incredible Hulk): She survived Armageddon once, but not, it seems, twice. She dead

Ned (Jacob Batalon, Spider-Man: Homecoming): Again, no comment, but OBVIOUSLY he’ll be back for the next Spidey movie

Man I love grapes

Aunt May (Marisa Tomei, Spider-Man: Homecoming): Alive, which is fantastic news, if you like Aunt May. Terrible news if you thought she was a buttwipe

Korg and Miek (Taika Waititi, Thor: Ragnarok): Another answer swerved, but they were perhaps the best thing about Thor: Ragnarok, so they won’t kill them off

Sif (Jaimie Alexander, Thor and Thor: The Dark World): Merked to death until she died

Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o, Black Panther): The Russos revealed that she wasn’t in Infinity War because she was “deep undercover”, so she’s probably not dead, is she?

The third bloke from the left, four rows down in the conference at the end of Iron Man: The Russos were not asked this, but it’s really been bugging me. Anyway I reckon he’s dead, the buttwipe

So that’s that - upset? Pleased? Not bothered in the slightest? It’s up to you - your emotions are your own and they should not be challenged.

But like, if you actually cried just now because Sif died even though you’d completely forgotten about her, then you need to sort it out pretty damn quickly.
