Ricky Gervais means business in the first official posters for David Brent: Life on the Road

Ricky Gervais means business in the first official posters for David Brent: Life on the Road
15 March 2016

“I’m a friend first, boss second. Probably an entertainer third.”

In truth, David Brent's all three bundled together in the first official posters for the BBC’s upcoming movie mockumentary David Brent: Life on the Road, heralding the return of Slough’s finest, who looks like he really means business - and no, we don’t mean paper sales - in both dressing gown and brown suit.

Now a travelling salesman (could any office truly tame this wild stallion?) and hoping to finally achieve rock stardom, the new film sees the former Wernham Hogg boss head out on a self-financed UK tour with his old band, Foregone Conclusion.

Among the new characters in Brent’s world, we'll get to meet love-struck Pauline (Jo Hartley; This Is England ’90), partner-in-crime Nigel (Tom Bennet; Phoneshop), 9-5 nemesis (Andrew Brook; Babylon) and his therapist (Nina Sosanya; Love Actually), who, let's be honest, may well end up needing a therapist herself.

Written, directed and, of course, starring Ricky Gervais, expect to see Brent hitting the Freelove Freeway – or rather junction six on the M1 - from 19 August.

Check out the posters below.
