Hopefully you've had time to adjust to news that Warner Bros. are remaking everyone's favourite 90's guilty pleasure Point Break, else this latest casting might come as something of a shock.

Australian actor Luke Bracey (G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Monte Carlo, and some other Australian TV shows you've probably not seen) is set to play Johnny Utah in a remake scheduled for release in 2015. The FBI agent out to infiltrate a gang of surfer criminals was first made famous by the charmingly clumsy skills of Keanu Reeves.

Bracey joins Gerard Butler, who'll be playing the bodacious (now extreme sports) villain Bodhi.

With a script penned by Kurt Wimmer (2012's Total Recall, Equilibrium), veteran cinematographer Ericson Core (The Fast and the Furious) will be turning his hand to direction. It's got slow motion speed-boat chases and lens flair written all over it. We can't wait.
