Leaked 'Avengers: Infinity War' footage introduces Thor to the Guardians of the Galaxy
26 March 2018

Children have it lucky, don’t they? They don’t have to pay for anything, are allowed to go to bed at seven o’clock and don’t get in much trouble if they wet themselves. Absolute doddle of an existence. While adults are working hard and paying taxes and stuff, children get to just run around with kites and shit. The only tradeoff is having a silly childish voice, no pubes and being forbidden from drinking, voting or driving. Hmm. Dunno. It’s nice ending the day with a cool refreshing vote.

A bunch of kids got a pretty great treat at the weekend, the jerks, when attendees of the Kids’ Choice Awards were shown a minute of footage from the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War, still a month off release.

It shows the coming together of two of the many, many strands that need to connect in this film: Thor and the Guardians of the Galaxy. We see a reasonably fortunate space-coincidence as the God of Thunder collides with the Milano, the Guardians’ ship.

Here’s the footage, shot on a phone because we can’t have nice things:

Fun! Fun fun fun. Because of the star-studded (HA HA THEY ARE IN SPACE, COOL) nature of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, where everyone is a huge deal and there’s always so much talent and charisma on screen, there’s not enough said about how good Dave Bautista is as Drax the Destroyer. He’s so good. It feels like in a post-Dwayne The Rock Johnson world we take it for granted a bit that a wrestler can be equally good at being hilarious as being massive, but we shouldn’t. Like, if The Rock wasn’t already The Rock, Dave Bautista could be The Rock.

Avengers: Infinity War is out on April 27th and stars everybody.
