Kiefer Sutherland set to return in Flatliners remake

He's crossing the line. Again.

Kiefer Sutherland set to return in Flatliners remake
08 July 2016

First off, yes: Sony is remaking the 1990's classic, Flatliners - the lab coat thriller that sees a group of medical students play with life and death, helping one of their fellow pupils to cross over from life to death in order to experience the other side before being resuscitated.

If we tell you that the tag line was 'Some lines couldn't be crossed' and starred Kiefer Sutherland in a long coat and even longer hair, you should probably get an idea of the tone of this stone-dead gem.

Now you're up to speed, we're delighted to tell you that Sutherland - with hair a good deal shorter - is set to return to Sony's remake.

Deadline reports that Sutherland will play a "seasoned doctor", which would suggest that if the remake follows the same plot as the original film, it won't be Sutherland who attempts to experience life after death.

Directed by Niels Arden Oplev (Girl With The Dragon Tattoo - the Swedish one), with a script by Ben Ripley (Source Code), Sutherland joins a cast that includes Ellen Page, Diego Luna, Nina Dobrev, James Norton and Kiersey Clemens.

Go on. Embrace the nineties nostalgia. It's good for you.
