Contemporary British films are usually rather easy to classify. Which, if you're a fan of romantic comedies about middle class white people or gritty gangster films starring Danny Dyer, is no bad thing.
But, for the rest of us, it can get a tad repetitive. Which is what makes new thriller Welcome To The Punch such a breath of fresh air.
The slick London-set action film gives a Tony Scott sheen to Canary Wharf as it pits determined copper James McAvoy up against master criminal Mark Strong.
We took some time to sit down with McAvoy to discuss why the UK isn't responsible for more action movies and what we can expect from the forthcoming X-Men sequel.
Welcome To The Punch is released on Friday
