How Much Would It Cost To Build The Millennium Falcon?

Let's face it, we'd all like our own Millennium Falcon. Can you imagine how jealous the neighbours would be? "Oh this old thing? She may not look like much, but she's got it where it counts. It gets me from A to B in less than 12 parsecs."

But, like any classic vehicle, finance is always going to be an issue, and this ride will not come cheap.

DeAgostini Model Space has calculated exactly how expensive a real life version of the famous Star Wars craft would cost to build; and it's a wallet-busting £3.2bn. The infographic below explores exactly what the individual component outlays would be, including £204m for eight infra-red laser weapons systems and £43m for an ARCHER supercomputer, together with an £858m bill for leasing a NASA development space.

The brilliant thing is that there are actually some people in the world who could afford this. Can we start a petition for them to put their money to good use? Mark Zuckerberg, we're looking at you.

Take a look at the infographic below and see what trade-in price you could get for your motor - every little helps.
