Christoph Waltz Cast As Villain In Bond 24?
14 November 2014

"No Mister Bond, I expect you to be dazzled by my pearly white smile and vivacious charm." While we're pretty sure this won't be the dialogue that makes it into the yet-to-be-titled Bond 24, we'd pay big money to see Christoph Waltz say something to this effect.

Word comes from the Daily Mail that the two-time Academy Award winner (Inglourious Basterds, Django Unchained) will be the central antagonist in Sam Mendes' next Bond outing.

Given his chilling performance in Tarantino's Basterds, we're hoping Mendes calls on Waltz to revive his stern, clipped Germanic accent - though we realise this could push things into 'old Bond' territory. Set to join a cast including Daniel Craig, Ralph Fiennes, Léa Seydoux, Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw and Dave Bautista, the latest Bond instalment is set to land in cinemas on 6 November 2016.

Waltz's casting adds to a list of rumours collecting around the project being helmed by a reunited Skyfall creative team: Dave Bautista, who recently impressed as Drax in Guardians of the Galaxy, is rumoured to be a central henchman - potentially lending some muscle to Waltz's wit - while rumoured locations have included Bond-staples Rome, Morocco and Austria. Even the soundtrack has collected its fair share of mumblings, with Sam Smith, Lana Del Rey and Adele all grabbing column inches. No doubt things will become clearer as soon as the production kicks into full motion - we'll keep you updated.
