Arnie is beefed up & ready to go for Conan The Conquerer

Harrison Ford isn't the only veteran film star keeping himself very busy these days.

Politician, bodybuilder, raconteur and movie icon Arnold Schwarzenegger recently took part in two UK 'Experience' events, in Edinburgh and Birmingham, where he answered a range of fan questions - and gave some details away about the possibility of a return to his role as the fantasy hero Conan The Barbarian, who he played in two eighties films: 1982's Conan the Barbarian and 1987's Conan the Destroyer.

Primarily, he revealed that he is still keen for the project - which he now referred to as Conan the Conqueror, rather than its previous working title The Legend of Conan - to happen, and is in good enough shape to take a full part in the role, even at the ripe old age of 69.

According to The Arnold Fans, he said: "Conan the Conqueror, where I’m sitting on the throne for years and years - decades, and then all of the sudden, the time comes when they want to overthrow me. So that story WILL be told and that movie WILL be done."

When asked on the current status of the project, he said, “As a matter of fact, it has been written and we are now looking for directors so this is a serious drive (now for Conan).”

Regarding his own physical condition, he said: "One of the advantages for when you train every day, when you bicycle everyday, when you work out every day is that age is not registering in the body the same with everyone else. Because when you stay in shape, you do turn back the clock. So I feel great and the last few movies that I’ve done, I’ve done many of my own stunts. I did all the physical stuff and it didn’t wipe me out and I have plenty of energy and feel really terrific. So I am absolutely convinced that I can do the Conan movie and do the horseback riding, the sword fights and all the fighting.”

Be careful, Arnie - 69's been a tricky age recently for a couple of much-loved celebrities. Take it easy out there, mate.
