Here are all the best films and TV shows coming to Netflix UK in May

In April we were treated to classics like Jaws and the Monty Python films along with the tenth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race, and May is set to be another month of binge-worthy Netflix viewing.

First up, we’re going back to 1976 with Martin Scorsese’s masterpiece Taxi Driver – widely regarded as one of the greatest films of all time. We’ve also got the new season of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and a terrifying Swedish post-apocalyptic drama called The Rain to sink our teeth into.

1. Prime Suspect (Seasons 1-6)

A belter of a British crime show (1991-2006) starring Helen Mirren as badass detective Jane Tennison.

2. Men Behaving Badly (Seasons 1-2)

The hilarious ‘90s British sitcom starring Martin Clunes, Harry Enfield and Neil Morrissey. Is it woke? Absolutely not in any way whatsoever. Is it funny? Yes, of course it is.

3. Some Like It Hot

This 1959 comedy stars Marilyn Monroe at her hilarious best – well worth a watch if you’ve never seen it.

4. The Rain (Netflix Original)

After a brutal virus wipes out most of the population, two young siblings embark on a perilous search for safety. A Scandinavian thriller series.

5. Dear White People (Volume 2)

Romantic dilemmas, a social media troll and big changes at Armstrong-Parker House push Sam, Lionel and friends to the breaking point in the new series of this satirical show, which began life as an acclaimed 2014 film by the same name and whose Volume 1 won plaudits upon release on Netflix this time last year.

The late-night legend is sitting down with comedy queen Tina Fey and King of All Media Howard Stern next month.

7. Taxi Driver

This 1976 film from Martin Scorsese, starring Robert De Niro, was ranked the fifth-greatest film of all time in a 2012 directors’ poll.

This docuseries investigates the true story of a pizza delivery man who robbed a bank, but was then killed by a bomb fastened around his neck.

12. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (Season 4)

Kimmy gets a job at a tech startup, Titus pretends to have a TV show to impress Mikey, and Jacqueline starts a talent agency.
