Move over, McFly

This home-made hoverbike is bonkers
29 April 2016

We don't want to pour scorn on the DIY project you've lined up for the Bank Holiday weekend, but it's got nothing on the latest creation of Colin Furze.

You might be familiar with the work of the talented YouTube 'inventor' through gadgets we've previously featured: there was his Assassin's Creed rope launcher, his toasting bread knife, his rocket kart. All brilliant, all pointless.

His latest invention follows the theme: a flying hover bike (or human blender, should any onlookers stray too close).

"Considering the amount of time i've spent on this and the fact this is my first EVER attempt at making anything that leaves the ground this is well and truly a job well done," writes Furze. "It's easy to overlook the true scale of what takes to make something like this work at all."

We would say 'don't try this at home', but that would go against the spirit of invention promoted by Furze. So do try building something awesome this weekend. Just do it safely, okay?
