They're actually making a Tinder movie

We might swipe left for this romantic comedy idea

They're actually making a Tinder movie
19 July 2016

Somewhere in a Hollywood studio

"Hey guys, what's popular right now? We need a film that has a guaranteed audience appeal. Something we won't need to work hard to sell; folks will just read the title and get it..."

"Emoji?"

"Sony got there first."

"Pokémon GO?"

"C'mon man - Legendary Pictures is already buying the rights to a live-action movie. Think harder."

"Tinder?"

"Done. Now, lunch..."

At least, we think that's how things went at Warner Bros. Variety has word that the studio is working on Worst Tinder Date Ever - a romantic comedy about a Los Angeles-based couple meet on Tinder and set about going on a date that "generates several disasters", all while the couple fall slowly in love with each other.

Keith Merryman and David A. Newman - the pens behind Think Like a Man and Friends with Benefits - will be writing the script, while Denise Di Novi (whose romance-heavy credit list includes Crazy, Stupid, Love and Message in a Bottle) is producing alongside Alison Greenspan.

We'll probably swipe left for this one.
